Shopping

I went shopping the other day to spend my gift cards I had been saving since my birthday. I was actually able to shop in the "normal" size clothes. That was a good feeling. The clothes will still fit I think after I lose the rest of the weight I want to lose.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day always brings my Mom to the forefront of my mind and oh how I miss her.

There are so many things I miss about my Mom.

I miss her being at the Holiday get together's. I miss playing Zilch and Casino. I miss watching Trading Spaces with her. I miss her morning phone calls. I miss her cooking. I miss her love she had for my kids. I miss not having her at church on Mother's Day and at church on every church day. I miss her Santa Clause collection. I miss thrift store shopping and taco's at Jack in the Box. I miss her love and hugs.I miss her singing and I miss her listening to her music. I miss going to garage sales with her and the trips to Mc Donald's for the kids to play in play land. I miss her support and I miss going to her house just for a visit. And the list goes on.

My Mom was a special lady who loved her husband, kids and grandkids. She had a way of making the Holidays special. She especially loved Christmas. She loved Santa Clause and Christmas music.Christmas just isn't the same without her. We have created new traditions but there is definitely a empty place where she belongs.

No one could have been a better Mom and I miss her.

Weigth loss

I have been on a diet since January. Not really trying real hard until sometime in March. Today I hit 10%. I have lost 10% of my body weight. I can't say that I feel a whole lot better physically. In fact I have been really tired (of course that could have to do with the time of year). But there is a big difference in the way some of my clothes fit. I hope to have a lot more weight off before we go on our cruise in June because I have heard that all you do is eat on cruises. I think I will just have to have a mind set of I might gain weight but I can get it off again when I am home. I don't want it to cause me to not keep going.

TIE A KNOT AND HANG ON

Bekki, blog Learning to dance in the rain, tagged me.
I did this on my blog I deleted but I changed it this time.
This has been the story of my life sometimes when it comes to living for God. I have had to tie a knot and hang on. It is hard sometimes to hang in there when things happen and you can't understand why. Repeatedly I have to tell myself I am living this life for God not the people. I have to tell myself keep your eye on God and it will work out.
I find myself in that position again and I have to remember it will be worth it all in the end.
Even though I do not understand why, sometimes I need to remember if I hold my peace, let the Lord fight my battles, the VICTORY WILL BE MINE.
So I am tying my knot and hanging on.

GIFTS

Can someone please correct me but does a gift normally require a thank you? I know a gift isn't given with a thought of a return but I know if I receive flowers or something I do say thank you. Of course I was taught manners could be the difference.
Just a thought.
